On Radio Interviews in Kuala Lumpur December 2007
Nicky and Double D from TraxxFM are also club DJs at some hot Hiphop club in KL. They had such great chemistry on air, Hamizan said it reminded him of Don & Drew. True! The station plays such good urban music, that even the market reports of stock and shares has a Hiphop backing track to it. We talked about me not being able to drive, because it was the ‘Traffic Buddy’ show. I boasted about Singapore’s public transport, of course. And we laughed quite a bit talking about parking in Malaysia. Loved the fast pace of their show. Thanks TraxxFM!
Dina Dinot from XFresh is HAWWWT! She is their new DJ, and I was the first interviewee to come early in the morning, and I justified that to be a good reason to be wearing shades indoors. Check: Hair undone, and muka belum bangun lagi. We chatted on-air about Malaysian jargon that I just learned like ‘kantoi‘, ‘poyo‘, ‘zassss‘, and ‘tiao‘. Apa tu? I noticed how this particular radio station records their talksets and edits it minutes before it is transmitted live. I think that is brilliant! You can omit all the errrs and the aahhs, the bloopers and such, especially from callers. Thank you Xfresh! It was really fun.
SelangorFM was the furthest to go to. Fazlie here is their new DJ also. Since the radio station is under RTM, this particular station has a strong mix of news and dakwah. So I felt like I had to take care of what I was going to say, but it’s not like I’m a foulmouth anyway. The great thing about oldfashioned radio stations like these is that I don’t get cut off halfway in my sentences by ads!!! Thank you SelangorFM. ps: Check out the Company Policy about playing foreign music. Bagus tu. Before and after every foreign song must be 2 local songs. Buat tauladan tu!
