It was so hot during the daytime and there was a huge jam on the way to the show premise. So quite apt lah, HotFM Big Jam, pun intended.

Malaysia entertainment scene is big on Press Conference. They have a PC for everything. They have a PC for artistes’ weddings, even. So fun. So on the 1st of March, I’ll be appearing with 29 other artistes at the Danga Bay, Johor Bahru concert as part of Hot FM’s 3rd year anniversary celebrations. I played with my camera and set it to ColourSwap courtesy of Canon Ixus IS 860 and forgot to switch it off when Aszu snapped pics, so that’s me looking purplish. Is it my tone, you think? Haha.

Managed to switch it back! I was mumbling away all the wrong lyrics when Nub sang his ‘Ada Untukmu’. I think it’s such a grand and beautiful song.

Here are the pics taken off Aszuad’s iPhone when we went to HotFM for Carta 30. Met the One in a Million folks (minus Suki who was in an interview at that moment). Hi Suki!!

I’m the guest for this Sunday’s Carta Hot FM 30 9am to 12noon, or the repeat at 9pm to midnight (Malaysia time). The show is hosted by FBI and Suraya (Farah is not in town!). If you’re in Singapore, you can tune into Negeri Johor’s frequency at 90.1FM.
Check out http://www.hotfm.com.my for more details.
ps: Ria Sentral (Astro 104) is showing newsclips of Umie Aida’s Belicious Boutique & Cafe Launch Sunday too at 11am

I appeared with a band called Bau, and also a newcomer named Rain for TV9’s Carta 30 HotFM hosted by Ikhwan and Anne. The thing is that it airs the same time as Melodi on TV3! I performed ‘Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang’ for the first time on TV accompanied by Alvin Infinatez on the guitars.

I’ve visited all the radio stations except for WanitaFM spearheaded by Ja’faar Onn. Interviews on RTM radio stations are lengthy and I get to talk alot. The more popular radio stations get straight to the juicy bits. I particularly like Xfresh when I can tune in because they play 100% local music. Local being Malaysian lah. But the other radio stations are also doing the same now, giving alot of priority and attention to Malaysian-produced music, and Malaysian-born or based musicians.
There is a webcam inside the Xfresh conty and it broadcasts live onto their official website. Although the sound does not tally with real-time action, and that their talksets are prerecorded up to 15 minutes to filter out pauses, stutters, misses and more importantly unexpected incidents like vulgar callers, wrong messages, and such, I think it’s still brilliant to connect to their audiences so intimately. I came to the studio again not too long ago with Ajib from Murai.com.my to promote an event that they were doing. Murai goes on-air often like E! Entertainment report sharing the hot stuff that’s on their website right now. Even more so, XFresh has an evergrowing and ever-changing roster of radio presenters made up of reality tv program finalists who originally wanted to be singers and also already popular singers/rappers like Cham from VE and Burn here.
It boosts ratings, spark interest in the media about celebs and their newfound jobs, the radio station meets its vision to cater to the picky market and for the newbies from shows like AF and Idol, when their short-term contract ends with radio, they’d probably find themselves with a more impressive portfolio and job opportunities that get lucrative as they go and pick up more production experience as they go. Brilliant. Old blood is old blood but new blood is always good blood.
