On Going For My Fitting A Thousand Times

Published by Imran Ajmain under Places, people

The photoshoot for the album is coming soon and because of my drop in size since the suits were made, I had to go for a refitting. Check out the gelebeh seluar, and Zee hijacked the camera and Wan whored infront of it while waiting for me.

Can’t wait for the shoot! (And to wear one of the suits to Anugerah Juara Lagu 18th Jan!) Who’s going?

On Visiting The Children’s Ward at IJN with BalaiRaya 360

Published by Imran Ajmain under Places, people

I was invited by the kind folks of a blogger’s community called BalaiRaya 360 to be part of their ‘Have a Heart’ campaign. The children’s ward has a wishing tree in which they get children at the Institut Jantung Negara to write their wishes and they get members of the public to grant them. For example, a 12 year old Ahmad Syakirin who has suffered from a hole in his heart his entire life, wanted a simple Gameboy. They managed to get somebody to sponsor it! So cool right? There was one who asked for white socks.

I was there to give out balloons and join in the merrymaking, cheer up the ward a bit. I don’t think they even know who I am, other than one of the abangs and kakaks who came in red and gave goodie bags out. I spoke to each parent of the sick children representing the bloggers’ community anyway. Later, we did some origami, and the entire time we were quite entertained by one of the blogger’s younger sibling, Danial, who could not stop talking! Haha.

Was a good experience, and the next day, the bloggers came to my showcase too. You can check out their collective blog at http://balairaya360.blogspot.com. Kudos to them for their philantrophic work. And thank you for having me to be a part of it. More pictures on my Facebook photo album.

On SuriaFM’s 1st Anniversary Party @ RedBox Sogo

Published by Imran Ajmain under Gatherings, Places, people

SuriaFM celebrated its first birthday and they had a small celebration, before their big party the next day. Farawahida, Amy Mastura and I entertained some guests, but I had to leave early for rehearsals.

Farawahida tried EVERYTHING on the buffet, as you can see. The birthday song in the karaoke playlist was so long that they had to shut it down to get the candle-blowing over and done with! Haha, Happy Birthday SuriaFM!

More event pics at their site here. You can check their site out at http://suriafm.com.my and Singaporeans can tune in at 101.4 FM.

On Coming Back to Singapore For Only 48 Hours

Published by Imran Ajmain under Places, people

I was out at Pizza Hut Causeway Point with Hafiz Smalls for a belated birthday dinner before he left for camp. Nadrah arrived and took over his seat and we had ice-cream. We almost forgot that Salim lives in Woodlands and called him to join us, and he didn’t really have a choice because we were already there at his neighbourhood. Met redhead Ainon and went to McDonalds Admiralty since the Civic Centre one is not 24 hours. (What? a non 24 hours McDonalds, this is absurd! Malaysia would never hear of this!). Met Zul Mystroe and kawan bisu dia and kita story-story for a while. It would have been a year since we last met.  1 FULL YEAR. After saying goodbyes, he even came back to continue the story. The headache was a cue to go home.

Then the next day I went to do some banking and shoeshopping with Hyrul. Ended up, Hyrul bought a pair  at Pedro and I didn’t get any. Met Farid who loves changing his phone number every now (and I suspect that he is avoiding random girls from Myspace/Facebook who he had given his number to and then later change his mind about it. But that’s just a theory.) Thus, he messaged me without leaving his name. I asked how he knew I was in town. He said he didn’t, he doesn’t really take note. Thanks, bilang dia. Met Fauzie for approximately 1 hour and the four of us had cookies at Subway (Well, Farid had a sandwich) and some laughs about underdressed and overdressed girls at Cineleisure before Farid and I split to go to meet Erwan and Ainon.

Went to Mosi and realised the place has turned into Youthpark sans skateboard ramp. School’s out kan, so all these teenagers hanging out after dark with their mixed race friends, taking my seat away. Met Hamizan with random Friendster chick, and then Krazie Starr with hippie chick friend. Ok so I didn’t really get to meet the entire KKJ this time around but I guess we have to take turns especially when time is not on our side. And I did spend a good time with Zee and Wan during their recent KL trip. So this weekend, its us again!! Plus Little Miss Tidy, Raudha, in the flesh! But she’ll probably be busy with Aaron Aziz stuff juga.

I didn’t eat any of my favourites at Mosi but its the thought that counts, and Rootbeer Float. Erwan took my camera without permission and took pics of Ainon on Haikal Tomthumb’s bike for so long, that when we left the place, Dipak called to say that Ainon left her Macbook there and we were already halfway home. How teenage of her! Baru aku kutuk teenagers!! I do think her schwoons of straight-to-Youtube student films and freelance hair modelling jobs could score her big time in the near future. But she (and Roze alike) gotta brush up on the Malay pronunciation bit.

And then it’s back to Kuala Lumpur for me right after that. Sempat makan Mak punya mee rebus and rojak India yang tak akan terjumpa di Malaysia!

What do you like about Singapore that you can’t find in Malaysia? (Open to Non-Singaporeans also)

On My Niece, Dahlia

Published by Imran Ajmain under people

This is my niece, Dahlia. She is my sister Musliha’s only child. They live in the Netherlands where her husband is from. This picture is of her showing a new haircut. I think she looks like Tom & Katie’s Suri in this one. She’ll be 4 in February. To see more pictures of her, you may click on the picture!

Oom Nanan <3 Dada!! Tot ziens!
