On Good Fans and Bad Fans
I receive updates in my email on websites distributing my music illegally. Download here, get it here, free, now, now now. I couldn’t help gave a very long sigh when for the longest time I’ve been pretty much carefree and nonchalant about it, I feel that it’s unfair that I get compliments for that 1 song you like but you never actually bought the album, nor subscribed to the ringback tone.
A fan from Tawau, Sabah wrote to me asking if he could have the lyrics to ‘Seribu Tahun’ in English and I was going to post it on his comments on his Friendster account when I saw that his page background was an image of me. I went through his pictures and apparently he has a picture taken with me when he was on holiday in Kuala Lumpur. I don’t remember it, it must have been pretty quick. Considering he was from the rural areas of Sabah, Malaysia, the ignorant Singaporean city person that I am quickly assumed that he’d simply get excited over these free goodies available to him on Youtube and by Googling. I was wrong. He took a picture with a copy of my album with the reflective ‘Tulen‘ sticker on it stating that its original. Because it happened the same moment I got so disappointed about seeing a website with my MP3s up for grabs, I felt that it was a sign of hope. I got so emotional there and then, ever so grateful to the boy and all who react the same way to my music and bought the original no matter. Guess the coincidence is a good sign, right? So if somebody so far away from the known retailers had his hands on the CD, it just breaks my heart to see everybody else would rather just look for the low quality MP3 online, and sometimes even compliment me for it on my networking sites. It’s a bit ridiculous right?
I thank you for those who, even if it was just for 1 song, bought the entire album. I hope it was worth it. For your info, I did release ‘Hanya Menari’ as an MP3 as a gift to close the first album promotions just to show that I’m not entirely against it and not like I was going to punish those who gleefully download without sparing a thought for the songwriter/composer/artiste. It’s fine. Just think it through the next time you slap a local artiste in the face like that. Hee.
I will make the first album ‘Dengan Secara Kebetulan’ and the upcoming album available by post to all parts of Malaysia with payments via Maybank transfers since that’s been suggested a few times. Please leave your comments as how I could it make it even easier for you to access the album. Thank you again!

On Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang Part 4: Lyrics
Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang
Written/Composed by Imran Ajmain/Ahmad Fedtri Yahya
Arranged by Eddie Marzuki
Yang tulus ikhlas
Ingin sekali sekala dirinya dibalas
Walau hanya dengan dakapan di angin lalu
Yang selalu memberi
Ingin sekali sekala jadi penerima
Cukup dengan salam dan manis doa
Prechorus:
Aku ingin kau merasakan hebatnya cinta
Dan leburkan saja serpihan calar derita
Chorus
Selamat ulang tahun sayang
Kini kau bersayap, pergilah terbang
Rentaslah langit cita cita mu
Harap nanti kita ‘kan bertemu
Selamat ulang tahun sayang
Janganlah engkau tak terbang pulang
Ku nanti penuh kerinduan
Selamat tinggal, selamat jalan
(Strings Bridge)
Prechorus
Aku hanya inginkan engkau setia
Kerana setia yang mencipta bahagiamu
Chorus

On Blindness & Bad Service At Long John Silver’s
Watched and loved Julianne Moore in ‘Blindness’. I saw the trailer quite a while back and I think we caught the preview infact. Imagine if one by one the country was struck by a sickness that makes everybody blind. That was just so tense. The film chronicles the ups and abouts of the wife of a doctor, played by Moore, who is the only person unaffected by this plague and carries the burden of being a mother for everybody who’s become so helpless now that they’re blind. You will be stressed out from start til end, I tell you. Not for those who prefer to watch basketball-bouncing teens prancing about and bursting into song.
Wan, Zee and I bought take-away from Long John Silver’s at MacDonald House, Dhoby Gaut, close to 15 minutes before closing. The manager or supervisor was attending the counter and I caught her name, Fong Par. So rude!! She said “What you want?” twice, and when the boy at the kitchen gave the meal to dine-in, she said “You didn’t hear me meh? I said take away!”. The boy said “Ya! I didn’t hear you. I’m deaf what!” They probably been at each other’s throats all day too. I was just dying to get out of there, cringed so hard to that lady’s PR skills. Goodness!
Hung out at the Istana Park like back in the day and ate our fill while waiting for Nadrah who catwalked from Heeren. Loving my time back home in Singapore for the break before the new single/album comes out, and loving my camera. Hee.

On My Trip to A’Famosa, Melaka & The Duet With Ning
Last July, I had an event invite in Melaka with Nabil and Ning Baizura The video was just cheeky me being bored at the condo/hotel. We were there for so long for just an hour’s show, which I didn’t mind, considering the view and how comfortable it was. The theme park is a little outdated but the sambal barbequed fish in Melaka is to, well, to die for.
In the video, Ning and I were rehearsing the song for the show later that night. And I was so smitten and starstruck that I went flat, didn’t give my all, got ridiculously shy and just froze. My manager teased me about it and she struck my tummy with her nails!!!! Alls wells for dreams come true.

On Appearing on TV3’s Jangan Tidur Lagi Part 2
Jangan Tidur Lagi Audience Being Tortured By Azwan Ali
Earlier this year in May I appeared on Azwan Ali’s ‘Jangan Tidur Lagi’ on TV3, and it has been repeated many times. The video above, held by Nadya (my assistant at that time), shoots the audience instead of me. Check out how the host tortures the audience to stand up and dance .
This went on and on throughout the shoot, I’m telling you. I was the guest together with Mr Manager, Vernon and Ella, yes, The Ella. Check the link below too.

On The Era Raya Open House Pictures
I got to wear this brown/olive number just this once during Raya. It was for Radio Era’s Open House done at the premise of a brand new housing estate over at Kajang, super duper far. We got lost on the highway, not knowing which exit to take. It was in an open field, under a huge tent, but the thing is, so many people been crowding the front row tables that the grassy ground has become mushy and I had my good white shoes on.
Nikki’s heels started to sink into the soil as well. When my SEAT started to sink too, we know we had to go. Great satay though, and we had fun refusing to get off the stage when its actually somebody else’s turn to take pictures with the Era radio crew. Heee.
The pictures are courtesy of Fendy. The boy really got Fann Wong cheekbones, man.

On Being Attacked While Filming: IT’S NOT TRUE!
If you have problems viewing the pictures, try another browser or visit my Facebook link
I appear on the set of ‘Renjis’ on Astro Ria Channel 104 this Wednesday playing myself. The season 2 of this drama stars Elyana, Sherry Ibrahim and the fella who hit me to the floor is Ashraf Muslim. His real life girlfriend is Sherry and I was kidding about talking to girls who date actors.
Turns out that post of him picking a fight with me has the highest hits this week. Apologies to everybody who fell for it, but it was good, wasn’t it?

On Buka Puasa at UITM 24th September 2008

It was a week before Raya but the Buka Puasa events started to deck with all sorts of Raya gear already. This one was at UITM where I sang “Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang” for the first time infront of a very very young crowd from a nearby Rumah Kebajikan/Anak Yatim. The kids were curious and bold. They wanted something, they asked for it. Good for them. Hope they had a great Raya this year.
The 2nd picture is me with Ina Naim by the way. Heh. She and husband hosted the event. Thanks to them and the students at UITM & UFM for inviting me over.
