The album was launched as a Mini Showcase / Press Conference at the Annexe, an art gallery at Central Market. I sang 5 songs, and we had satay for everybody, and this particular drink called ‘Berkat’; one of those old school bottled beverages marketed for the heartlands. It was quite exciting.
I was right about the press putting pressure on the whole citizenship issue. Argh. But I was cool and calm about it. It’s on Melodi this Sunday, I think.

The album is finally out in Malaysia and on the 29th January, Imran had a small showcase for friends from the Media and Press. Accompanied by Rafik on keyboards and Alvin (Infinatez) on guitars. Even spotted a few Singaporean Imtiaz attending the show. Congratulations Imran! Now go and get your copy!

On What’s Been Happening The Past Few Weeks
I have been leaving the house too early in the morning, and coming back too late at night to upload pics but now that I’m back in Singapore for 72 hours, I put aside some time to clear my cameraphone off these things! It’s been a crazy 3 weeks in Malaysia. My Singaporean friends came and went and came again, and I was still there!

A few days after RTM’s Zoom In, I did the Anita Sarawak’s Kwek Mambo show on Astro. Didn’t get to snap a picture with her. But here’s a clip during rehearsal. She is amazing, I tell you. The way she spins and twirls, I don’t think anybody else her age could do that.
And then I had Hitz.TV show called “A+” hosted by Hunny, whom I met like 5-6 years ago during Teh Tarik Crew’s Album Launch. The show was so relaxed compared to Kwek Mambo that was so kecoh!
She’s hawwwt. I thought she was Hannah Tan! Sorry, avex! Hee.
And you know what I’ve never gone karaoke in my life. I can remember that one time at Chai Chee Community Club with Han, Fiza, Yani, Huda and we did songs that only we knew, and everybody else around us went blank. That was one time. Cheryl insisted we go. She is such a karaoke-r that she has membership at RedBox. We went to the one at The Curve. The place reminds me so much of Holland Village, but everything’s halal. So at RedBox, guess what? They have my song!!
That’s Shegar, my stylist. There was Cheryl, Kitt, and later even Aszuad did his Luther Vandross impersonation. Everybody went quiet when the Celine Dion song came up and nobody owned up. Shegar sang pretty well!! It was so weird to go karaoke, and my song was there. Kitt chose ‘Diri Mu’ by Cheryl Samad, and looked at her, and then said “I’m singing this song, you will sing back-up”. Haha! It was her song!
We checked out the place where my album will be launched next Tuesday. And boy, I love the place. Heard about it from Kevin first, and heard about stuffs happening there. When we went there, the ideas that flow through my head were exploding like a bombed riverbank. I wished that we could have it open to public though but it would be a little out of control, I think. The Wang guy who ran the place said that they were pretty flexible with anything that we wanted to do there. I didn’t get to check out the club that is now under their management to, within the same vicinity. It’s called The Annexe @ Central Market. Interested press please RSVP to aszuad@beats.sgThe album launch/press conference is called ‘Dengan Secara Akustik’ will be a small one. It will feature Alvin from Infinatez on guitars, and Rafik, soul pianist, the one who played during Tanchap at Shah Alam. When I jammed with them that night, felt like it was brand new songs padahal they were my songs from the album. Check this out.

Oh yea, I was part of Youth’08 at PWTC and in conjunction with Majalah Hai’s new issue, I performed and had an autograph signing session which went a little crazy.

On Performing for Noryn Aziz’s ZoomIn on RTM1 13.01.08 8.30pm
Bisikan Rindu – Imran Ajmain & Noryn Aziz – ZoomIn Rehearsal
I’ll be singing two songs during Zoom In on Sunday, 8.30pm on RTM1. ‘Seribu Tahun’ and a duet with Noryn Aziz called ‘Bisikin Rindu’. The band is headed by Acis, or Mr Sheila Majid to most of us. The show will feature Noryn Aziz as the headliner, and Fazli Zainal, Ramlah Ram, and yours truly as guests. Check out Ramlah’s highest notes on ‘Ketentuan’ (Azlan Abu Hassan).
