I was down with the sniffles for the past few days, I think I got it from Rif but everybody has been getting infected as well. What a bummer. I missed so many days of recording and I’d rather not do anything else either. But what was weird is that I think, now that my nose is blocked and my throat is sore, I think my hearing is amplified. I heard crickets. I’ve never heard crickets around my area before. And when I was standing in the train, I could hear the cracking of the metal floor, jostling about in high speed. The crickets reminded me of two things; Ayuthya 1997 and Tekong 2003. I’d rather Thailand anytime though.

I panicked, and then I got angry, then I got sad, now I can’t really be bothered. If you know what I’m talking about, I hope you help solve the problems or get out of my way.

Yesterday was easily the best day of 2006 but the year just started, so I guess it’s a good start to the year. I had to chaperone some of the performers at at Jurong Point engagement for a 4PM event. We were done before Taufik’s set so I didn’t get to see him. The location didn’t make much sense. It could cater to maybe ten people on the first floor; where you’d have girls scream Taufik’s name was actually an escalator. So that was dumb. I hate the long trips to Boon Lay; since I was teaching at Lakeside Primary, trips to a friend’s house and then had to be there for this anti-smoking joint. Had lovely company for the trip to Arts House; made jokes to each other without actually being able to see each other’s faces.

Speakeasy IV was crazy. I was worried that nobody was around yet at 5.30pm, but the crowd came in at 6pm. Those waiting outside are dumb. I can’t stand that kind of attitude. I would write a review but I’m waiting for the boys to come up with one of their own. I loved Greta Georges’ set and also, the freestyle bit over Nick’s set. It was the best line up and turn out that we’ve ever had. So 4 Platformers got to perform; next month we’re doing that bit again. It’s really encouraging. I just couldn’t stand one itsy bitsy detail about a certain person who came to give bad comments about each and everything that’s going on. Not nice, not nice! Guess who?

Spent the rest of the evening at our favourite sandwich haunt over at Arab Street. I love it alot but because its a small joint, the service can be really slow. That’s bad when you’re the only ones around, and you’re really hungry, so you don’t know who to shout at, your patience or the nice auntie who serves us so nicely. Hah. I think I like crowds only when I’m on stage or I’m speaking, but I prefer a smaller bunch to hangout with. More than 5 people can be a drag. I swear.

I don’t understand why some people can’t make social decisions without waiting for friends, who, by the way, have similar characteristics. One wants to eat, he has to wait for everybody else. One wants to move, he has to wait for others. Even if the bus passes by, and they are all late for something, they’d still have to wait for the latecomer. Why? Can’t you go without your friends? Seriously. This is a big issue. Of course, I’d like accompaniment every now and then, but not to the extent that I trouble myself or trouble others. Think about it.

Selfish people should die young.
