Oh the week went by so fast! I thought we were supposed to go for countdown but ended up doing a vigil slash hang out instead. All the Kuala Lumpur shows that I know of has been cancelled anyway. Caught the Cineleisure show, and finished the day off at Kaki Lima. Wanted to salsa at Chijmes but since it was Hiphopfest repeated all over again, we avoided having muddy shoes and made alternative plans. Most of us were tired from the long day already anyway.
I’m not about to tell you how ERS saved the weekend but tis’ the season to get engaged, let me tell you that!
Salim and I had caught a cab, although our destinations might seem a bit off from each other. He was on the way to his grandma’s at Siglap and I was going home. The driver was a Malay guy and it caught to Salim’s attention that he had on the Javanese headwear on. He typed it out on his phone,
“Kau tengok dia punya songkla.”
Songkla in which refering to the headwear.
“Dia punya IC pun dia pakai songkla tu” pointing to his identity card pasted onto the dashboard. Songkla, by the way, is a water festival in Thailand. I replied back, while laughing our heads off, “Tu bukan songkla, sundal. Tu nama nya blankon“. And we laughed again. Ok and then we realised that on his head, was actually his hair! There was no headwear on! We laughed and laughed and laughed, and I couldn’t take it that I had to get off at Siglap too to continue laughing. Shape apa tu kepala dia?
Caught Kung Fu Hustle at midnight and laughed like mad again. It was so stupid. Sat behind Emily from Devil’s Bar ala ala make conversation about how there’s a Canto band on Sundays that’s why she’s not working. Next to her was Nadirah from Sungguh Hot with her boyfriend ala ala try not to get eye contact in case we’ll have to acknowledge each other. Apa jer. Sani and I got into giggling fits when I handed him a huge caramelized ball of popcorn. What the hell was that? I was wrong about Chinese flicks. Stephen Chow rocks.
How come we can survive on nothing for so long but when we have money its all spent on nothing so fast?
By the way, if you hear news that your close friend just told somebody else about some secrets that you told them, it’s probably true. Time to rearrange the furniture, people! You can’t trust wood too much these days.
Off to KL in a week!
