There were no fried eggs in the nasi lemak this morning. My mother says that it has gotten surprisingly cheap, and now’s thrown in a slice of fishcake to make up for the loss. I got to watch part of today’s Oprah on breast cancer. She’s done a few on the subject. I stayed at home the day before and she was doing Madonna and woman’s bad habits. I imagine Anita Sarawak having a local talk show like that but then Malay women will have more reasons not to get off the couch. They would talk about egg prices.
Azmir’s sister called. Azmir is the dude singing with me this Saturday at the YouthPark show. Apparently he isn’t, anymore. The guy is stuck in Los Angeles when all flights out have been cancelled ’til further notice. He was there to catch Usher’s concert after winning a contest recently. Azri from Singapore Idol has kindly agreed to take his place. He’s the goodlooker you caught “dancing while waiting for his turn”. The truth is, they made him do it. He’ll be performing with me along 6 dancers from Six2Groove, BreakForce Crew, my youngest bro and Gee, woman-boy extraordinaire. The show starts at 7, be there.
On a more serious note, my other brother, Mac, is in the hospital for suspected dengue. Those who’d like to visit him, please give me a call or a message.
I didn’t go to work yesterday after a long night spent with some people, talking serious stuff. I can’t last the night talking serious stuff so my back started to ache like mad and I was itching to go home. We made rounds around the island sending everybody but me because the guy still wanted to talk. At least there was Maxwell on his CD player. Fildza, Juherman and Bless all chose to stop at the ‘Slow Down’ sign near their houses. Coincidence?
Poetry Slam went alright but there were not enough people who attended. I did expect the lot to be those who think they’re on speaking terms with Shakespear but it wasn’t that bad. Yadin’s beatbox versus tabla set inspired me quite a bit. We’ve been invited to do the series from now on. So Beats Society got one more project under its arms. We’ll get more people to go next time. It’s the last Tuesday of every month and underaged patrons may enter.
You think you know but you really don’t.
I should have a Wednesday Woes section where I talk about my worries once a week. Trash has been quite popular. Been receiving emails about it. That’s the beauty of not having a tagboard; you get personal mail.
Curious; if we spoke up against the tappered community, maybe disallowing them to enter clubs or libraries or events if they were dressed as such, would anybody speak up for it in English?
